Similarly the headphones promotion from some time ago allowed one to look at a product which many in the lounge have an interest in acquiring if they don't already have at least one pair - a set of high-end noise cancelling headphones.

In both cases the stands were not 'selling' per se but providing information in that one could not purchase in the lounge. Also unless I am mistaken the area used for such stands is beside the gold bar and hence in a brightly-lit section of the lounge, making the comments about brightness a little difficult to understand.

These stands don't bother me in the least, and if they partially fund having a slightly better class of Red in the lounge then more power to them!
If i want to look at the new Samsung phones or noise cancelling headphones I can walk down to the shop that sells them. I don't need them shoved in my face. There's enough of that in LHR as it is.

Can anyone see a CX or EK stuffing their lounges full of these adverts? It's a very Ryanair/Easyjet thing to do.
