Has anyone tried claiming a discounted F/C seat on AA? AA has been representing for years that discounted first is Y inventory with an immediate upgrade.
This worked for me.
I sent a note through the secure message center requesting $300 in travel credits based on two charges. GogoInflight (monthly $52.01 fee) and a seat upgrade for $260 on a $511.20 YUP fare.
When I was booking my flight, I selected coach on both legs so I would get the screen showing the coach fare ($251.20) and the cost to upgrade ($260.00). I did a screen print before pressing "upgrade" and attached the screen shot as proof tying the total after upgrading to the price that was charged.
No issue. Got the $300 travel credit notice within 30 minutes.
