I have been reading some horror stories about the uncomfortable very narrow seats. A few questions please:
1. are they really worse than other economy seats?
2. is it worth upgrading to premium economy (hopefully using flying blue miles)?
3. Do they allow seat selection at the time of booking?
4. I'm able to transfer Chase Saphire points to "Flying Blue" how readily available are economy seats redeeming f.f. miles?

I have never flown KLM and really concerned. I was choosing KLM because they offer non-stop flights. Would I be better choosing a different airline even if it requires a change of planes?

Thank you for your time and help.
1. Recently flew AMS-YVR on the new 772 with narrow seats. Was not looking forward towards the trip, but the seats where very ergonomical I must say! Padding is firm and good. On the way back we had the 332, which at that point disappointed me. Seat is wider, but far les ergonomical.
The flight attendants are most of the time older woman, and really take care of the children. That is one of the reasons we like to fly KLM (and we are dutch, so a bit bias )
It is economy. But prefer the 777 above the 330 on multiple occasions.
Yes, and with children you can ask for the " family row" though social media!
2. Actually flew AMS-CPT one time in KLM economy comfort. A bit better recline, but would not pay more than 25e per seat for it. since it is still economy, and on the inbound it is a day flight.
