On the bright side: Unlike "regular" feedback / complaints, it actually seems like someone reads the "commendations".

A few months ago I sent in some positive feedback using that form and the next day I received a phone call from the station manager thanking me for my gracious comments.

She also sounded extremely excited, so I can only assume how rare it is for employees (especially airport employees) to get any positive feedback.
