What double miles are you referring to? AA flights?

Calculating award miles

The new earning structure applies to travel beginning August 1, 2016. Miles are earned based on ticket price (includes base fare plus carrier-imposed fees; excludes government-imposed taxes and fees). The more you spend, and the higher your elite status, the more you'll earn.

AAdvantageŽ member – 5 miles for every U.S. dollar
Gold member – 7 miles/U.S. dollar (40% bonus)
Platinum member – 8 miles/U.S. dollar (60% bonus)
Executive Platinum member – 11 miles/U.S. dollar (120% bonus)

yes, EXP have 120% bonus compared to Plat 60%. But its not double miles based on distance, it's based on fare.

For partners, as far as I can tell, EXP don't earn miles at any higher rate than other levels. Higher mileage multipliers are based on cabin class.

How are you able to get 80,000 'extra' miles/month due to being EXP?
