We haven't done enough data collection to have a great picture, but I don't believe applying an RPU will limit your ability to see the upgrade fee offer at OLCI (believe it's inventory dependent only). I would definitely waitlist it; should have a decent chance of clearing on a Saturday in December, especially if it's one of the last flights (they seem to be a pretty good bet for open R).
