AFAIK BUF currently has 0 international service. PHX serves 20 international locations most of which are Mexico and Canada with London (LHR) being the only trans oceanic destination.
There is a lot of money around PHX, and many of the state locals travel to LAX to begin their longhaul journeys.
The BA flight to LHR is usually very busy, as it's the only route to Europe.
An EK routing, would have an impact I'm sure.
