Question AA charging additional award for stopover
Not sure if this is new, or if I am just confused, but I just booked:

ICN-HKG CX F, with 2 hour connection to:
HKG-TPE CX J

Return

TPE-HKG CX J

then 4 days later

HKG-ICN CX F.

I know an F award ICN-HKG-TPE is 40K miles one way.
But I was charged 40K + 40K + 22.5K because of the stopover in HKG on the return trip (22.5K is a the cost of a one-way J award from TPE-HKG).

Is this right?
