Mama Thai in Oak Park

Altough I moved to Oak Park last September, I haven't had an opportunity to sample the many dining establishments in the village. I'm hardly ever home and when I do eat out here I usually go the places I know in the city or suburbs that aren't Oak Park :-) So one night I was in a Thai mood and with my gf ventured out to Mami Thai on Madison, about a block east of Harlem Ave.

Sampled the satay and golden crab an appetizers, which turned out to be a good choice, although the crab wontons were a bit on the small side.

I ordered the spicy basil, which is ground chicken stir-fried with garlic, hot peppers,
basil leaves, and mushrooms. I had read a review praising this dish and they were right on. It was very good. The sig other had the Super Duck-duck roasted in brown sauce-which I found to be mediocre, but then again I'm not a big duck person.

This place is definitely a must see. Very nice decor, quiet setting, and generous portions of good, affordable food (both our entrees were under $10).
