I got the citi platinum visa 3 years ago. I closed it after a year but not sure of the exact date. I know about the 24 month language but I got a mailer for 50K miles and it states:

Card Offer: American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles offer is not available if you have had a Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® MasterCard® opened or closed in the past 24 months.

I never had the mastercard at all, only the visa. Can I go ahead and apply now for the bonus or no?
