Caution about CITI retention offer activation
If CITI offers you an incentive (excluding your initial signup bonus) and you accept, it is important to WAIT at least two business days for the offer to be loaded to your account. I was specifically told this amount of time. In other words, it is NOT immediately activated. The reason I mention this is because I usually call with some large bill in mind to pay to give them the spend towards the bonus. But, as I said, don't just hang up and then pay the bill. I wait 3 business days for safety and the bonus has always appeared on the next statement as promised. The last thing you would want is to give them a nice large charge and not have it count towards the bonus offer you negotiated.
