I don't agree at all that "Foodie" and Caribbean do not work ... however, many times you need to get away from the resort(s).
And keep in mind, too, where you are - don't seek out Michelin 3* types, rather the local spots that are vibrant and full of the local joie de vivre.
I'm pretty sure ABG and I are actually agreeing on this point.
