I will be flying IAH-DFW-DEN-SLN. An once i get to Denver i have a flight with Great Lakes on an EMB-120. Can i just check in at the gate for the Great Lakes flight?
Except for Eagle flights and international ones, there's no guarantee which terminal your flights will use. Just because they are in C yesterday today and tomorrow, they may use A or D next week.

That said, 40 minutes is fine if your inbound is on time, and if you do end up not changing terminals, so much the better, but there's not much room for error, especially if you're connecting to another airline, to a flight that seems to be the last one of the day.

Is this on a single ticket?

Edit - I assumed like most DFW connections this was on AA. Or is it on United?
