1. The investment wasn't especially large
2. China is projected to be the largest aviation market in the world within 5 years
3. I'm not a fan of MU by any means, but they have been continuously improving over the course of the past 20 years, and I can't say the same thing about the US3
4. DL believes there are potential gains to be realized by aligning schedules with MU
