I tried to use an OU voucher at EWR yesterday. Ticketing agent and supervisor both said that since it was > $1,000, I had to go back to the issuing location to use it. How practical. Never heard that before, and neither did the EXP desk when I called from the ticket counter to see if they could make anything happen.
EWR still wouldn't budge so after some pressing, I got the EXP desk to extend the 24 hour hold on a fare that had since increased and would have expired last night. I'll ticket in NYC office today, they seem to be pros with processing vouchers.
Not sure if they were concerned with risk/fraud at EWR but they claimed that vouchers should be issued in max $1000 denominations. Quite a hassle and a waste of time...when are the e-vouchers coming?
