Yes. Lots of quick cycles to build familiarity by pilot and FA crew. Keeping them hubbed out of ATL (only) at start keeps tech resources closer. DL is due to receive 15 A321s this year - there's plenty of short-haul / high capacity demand out of ATL to keep that few busy.
Training could also explain the mysterious brand new 737-900 I flew on the MSP-MCI or vv route over a year ago where it seemed like an extra flight added to the schedule on an early fall weekend. The pilot made some remarks about the brand new aircraft and I did detect that new airplane smell.
