Something I've long craved (and needed) on my cross-country flights, but rarely been able to have access to.
The USB port works fine; my iPhone is connected right now. But the power socket does not charge. I have my 15" MBP Retina, and there's neither a charge nor a connection of any kind to the laptop power socket. I remembered back to the early days of electric sockets on planes and recall I used to have to carry an adapter. Doesn't seem to be needed here--plugs right in. Just doesn't charge. I tried the three other sockets nearest my seat and they all had the same problem.
Is there a trick to getting these to work?
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I've never had a Delta plane with this configuration on any of my normal routes. (It's been a LONG time since I was fortunate enough to have a non-stop flight. I don't go to New York often, though will be at least once or twice a month for the next year. And none of my usual routes have non-stop options--which appears to be the only routes where planes with such an abundance of power hookups are used.)

If I try to use the 2 prong adaptor it is very intermittent because the prongs don't make contact very well.
I now use the longer cord with the 3 prong plug and it works 100%
