Agreed. It depends on how much power you are pulling and might even depend on how much your neighbors are pulling if they have breakers for each circuit.

You can also try options such as:
1. Charge but don't use
2. Remove battery (if it is discharged) and only use as this will avoid pulling current to charge the battery as well as run the device - but you run the risk of the power going out and losing your work since there's no battery
3. Plugging in the device in a different order - sometimes making the final connection at the back of your device, at the outlet, or in the middle if you have a "brick" transformer, can make the difference.
