In US culture we have a joke, "If it's Tuesday, this must be Belgium." It refers to old movie of the same name whose plot was based on the mistake many Americans have made in visiting Europe: attempting to tick as many boxes for visiting different countries as possible on one whirlwind trip, only to find they spend more time at rail stations and on minibuses than actually enjoying the attractions of any location they're visiting.
