Hotel situation in Rome leaves much to be desired, true, but having stayed with most top properties, St. Regis is a favorite (never points stays). I also had few great NYE celebrations at their Ritz Ballroom. This summer went with Hassler and would have most likely switched for St. Regis if it weren't a short stay. Would always recommend staying there.
