Another fun thing about this is that obviously they timed the departure from the lounge so I would be one of the last passengers to board. This meant that all FAs in the business cabin noticed my arrival and the fact that I was escorted by a man from the La Première team.
They obviously thought I was actually travelling on a proper first class ticket and took really good care of me. They made sure I was one of the first passengers to get a pre-departure drink, I was obviously on top of the list for the main course order and in the morning they came to ask if I had slept well. The purser even came to apologise about not being able to offer arrivals assistance in Cape Town, but she promised she would ask the ground staff anyway to see if they could speed up the process through immigration in some way.
