Flown 787 three times and I have never really noticed a difference.

Biggest difference for me was the quietness of the plane, which makes the cabin noises seem a lot louder. People talking with noise cancelling headphones on and galley noise all seem a lot louder than normal. Not too bad on day flights but I found it a people on the night flight even when wearing my headphones.
