I did just that. Now, there's no easy way to get to the "articulos olvidados" office of Copa. I stepped up to a check-in counter agent, they called downstairs and indicated that they'd have to issue me a gate pass and escort me past immigration to the luggage area. However, 15 minutes later a proud Copa employee brought my item up to me in the terminal and that was that.
