Air Tahiti Nui Flights operated by Air New Zealand in the PPT to/from AKL market are valid for redemption when booked as TN flight number.
So, who knows if there aren't other, unlisted, exceptions we don't know about, based on your report.

Or, ones that just haven't been added yet-- I noticed you mentioned on Gary's blog that you've been booking this TN/NZ flight as an AAdv award for 3 years, yet -it- only showed up in the documentation very recently. So, could be who knows how many others.
