The cost to change from Y->C on the award is relatively low for the peace of mind knowing that you have the seats you need. I would also say that you're going in shoulder/off-season and I would virtually guarantee that you'll be able to find an award seat in Y or C on the return much closer to the day of travel. I wouldn't sweat it too much right now.
