Very unlikely, in my opinion. The web page lists the new earning as "For travel on or after January 1, 2016" not "For travel on or after January 1, 2016 on flights ticketed after Nov 17, 2016".
But I would definitely complain. I'm almost frustrated that all of my currently-booked AS travel is before the New Year, so I don't have this as a legitimate reason to say "dude ..." to AA. Changing the earnings significantly for the worse with 6 weeks notice is highly unfriendly.
