No - you are correct - That is the sweet spot in the revenue based programs - really short hauls that cost 300+.
Transatlantic roundtrips that cost 1200 - 1500 earn at approx the same rate, depending on the status.
Where you get totally screwed is cheap 1000+mile domestic trips and cheap transpacific trips
