It's a rant but he's not being too much of a DYKWIA about it
He had no gate on check-in and thought his flight will be delayed and entered a lounge. He admitted to assuming his flight will be announced when ready for boarding.
It was not, and by the time he found his gate and got to it it was already scheduled departure time and he and a couple of others have already been offloaded - gate closed and departure was as scheduled after all.
He did whinge the lounge staff knew where he was cos he needed his FFP number added back to BP and he did have mobile number in the booking.

Personally I empathise because I was recently in CX HND lounge knowing my flight may be delayed because the incoming aircraft arrived late, we were explicitly told to wait at lounge at scheduled departure time then told to start boarding 10 mins later, only to be met by the JL equivalent of a CX tight transit tag team running me to the gate (second last to board, last was another lounge user who took a longer leak than me in the lounge loo before we boarded).
