I agree that this is something Marriott should address but maybe they like the current system as they see how much they are saving. After all, I wonder how many people do not check online to see whether their stays have been credited properly. I know their system makes it very difficult to track "Nights" as it only shows "Points Earned".
I book all my personal hotel stays via marriott.com and, ensure that my business stays are showing up immediately after booking via Concur. However, they seem to miss rewarding points/nights in about 10% of stays. That seems excessive as they have the booking in their system. The airlines used to have this same problem but I haven't missed miles now for several years and that includes the challenges the airlines have to deal with to account for travel on alliance partners.
