Speaking of passports, a major Francophile friend lost hers on the Paris Metro (not sure whether stolen or her flimsy purse strap simply came undone). Anyway, she's so delighted with her replacement issued at "U.S. Embassy, Paris" that I suspect any future renewal will be promptly lost, guess where!
