I have a question about the AA award ticket-changing fees.

Do the rules apply to tickets booked on partner airlines? Mainly, I am interested in booking a business-level seat ATM so I can make my travel plans. As seats open up, I will try to upgrade to first. I plan on staying with the same airlines (oneworld partner), as well.

Plus, I am interested in the language in the rules; "most direct routing". So if I wanted to travel, say, between Seoul and HND, I wouldn't be able to fly DOH-HND when INC-HKG-HND was available?
