EK, QR GF have been using Yemeni airspace to their East and Southern African routes since the airspace was recently closed. QR are now detouring via Sudan to/from East African destinations using A319/A320 aircraft. Their southern flights tend to trek up the eastern coast of Africa avoiding said airspace.
As far as Ethiopian's flights to IAD and LAX, the stats speak for themselves. Look for yourself and explain to me how it is "almost always seriously delayed."
