Sure, but rates vary depending on demand and season. On a holiday weekend or during college graduation or during a music festival, that very same room could be $154. The ability to book that room at 3,000 + $45 is a fantastic option.
I really appreciate having the option to pay outright and earn points when I want, and use a small amount of points and pay that co-pay when I want. Wyndham is giving choices and if one option seems so much better than the other, you're free to take it.
