We did end up getting off, funnily enough only a few mins after I posted. Should have asked sooner ��. That was the first time I've had it that bad. We landed and they tried to set expectations "going to be a while, 30-40 mins" and lightning just wouldn't stop. Every time it got close to opening we would get another strike in the zone. Delta did pretty good fwiw. Made plenty of rounds with water and coffee and offered a lovely snack at one point, even got to choose multiple peanuts, cookies, pretzels if we wanted. So they did what they could and kept is pretty well apprised of situation. Absolute madhouse getting off. They didn't close runway, just gates, so planes kept flying in so by time we got through the 3 hour Tarmac sit, there were a bunch of planes de-planing at same time which made passenger pickup and the trams an absolute joy!!
