To be more specific, I am arriving on itinerary TPA-DFW-YVR and departing the same day on another itinerary YVR-DFW-SCL. Will this work, or should I schedule arrival in YVR the previous day?
YVR is in another country, and AA flights from YVR to DFW utilize the U.S. pre-clearance facility at YVR. Even if you could somehow avoid clearing Canadian Immigration and Customs, I do not see how you would be permitted to (re-)board the aircraft for the flight back to the U.S. without first clearing U.S. Immigration and Customs at YVR.
