What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Platinum.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked King Leisure, upgraded to King Suite.

How are the rooms?
Suites are nearly 2x the size of regular rooms. One half is a wet bar, sofa, fridge, microwave, large flat screen. Far room is bedroom with ottoman and another flat screen. Windows open in both rooms (up to 10cm).

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
-Friendly staff,
-Terrific upgrade
-Strict noise policies, wish all properties adopted this
-Higher-end HIX, attractive exterior, clean, modern interior
-Modern, spacious rooms
-Good shower pressure, ergonomic shower head
-Quiet, good soundproofing, slept great
-Beautiful outdoor pool
-10-minute walk to Whitby GO! Station (50-minute ride to downtown Toronto)
-Over a dozen restaurants across the street, including proper sit-down ones

Bad:
-No HD channels
-Breakfast area cramped, a bit of a zoo

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Rates are high in the summer for an HIX ($160+), but was sold out well in advance at it is either the best or second-best hotel in the Whitby/Oshawa area.
