The NV Taxicab Authority sent me a list a while back that had estimated fares between the airport and a number of locations. It appears that a one-way from the airport to downtown will be about $15-16, plus $1.20 airport tax, plus tip. Remember, that's an estimate.
The Plaza is prob ok for one night, although there are many regular hotels/motels right by the airport, as well as a number of the major resorts (MGM. Tropicana, etc) very close by.
