I want to upgrade Singapore Airlines LHR-SIN Business Class (D fare) to First class using United miles. Alll aircraft on this route are either A388 or B773ER. There is one drawback: for some reason, United will not allow upgrades on these two aircraft types! Is there any way around this or do I have to grin and bear it?
