I just put an award on hold, LHR-SEA-LAS. The LHR-SEA segment is on B.A. and then SEA-LAS is in Alaska. It priced out as 20k miles one way in economy class (plus big B.A. fuel surcharge, of course).

Here's my question. The B.A. flight arrives in Seattle at 4 p.m., the website then gives me various options of continuing to Las Vegas 2 hours later, or 5 hours later, or even taking one of two morning flights the next day.

All itineraries price out at 20k, even if stopping in Seattle for 5-16 hours. Why? I thought there was no longer a stopover of more than 4 hours at the North American gateway?

I'm not complaining, I'd just like to understand it. Thanks.
