To correct the other reports, I was working that flight as it all started happening. According to the crew, the fumes were in the cabin and not cockpit. Both pilots were on oxygen just as a precaution, although came off it when they decided to continue and started climbing again around Cardiff. The situation wasn't resolved before reaching oceanic airspace, so they elected to return, declaring a PAN, and were back on oxygen when they re-entered UK airspace.
