Another Stealth Devaluation

Effective April 22, Delta no longer awards mileage for any trip where you are placed (protected) on Delta by another airline for any type of reason. Of course I only found this out after the fact by a very apologetic Corporate Customer Care representative who had no idea herself.

Example: United bumps you from their flight and places you on Delta. The Delta portion does not qualify for mileage earning. Even if you're on a full-fare United ticket and they place you on Delta, you will earn ZERO. This would also be the case for any other airline that protects you on DL-metal.

Just something for the road hounds, like me, who have earned mileage in the past by GIVING DELTA BUSINESS by requesting the airline with the oversell, or delay, or cancelation, place me on Delta. Remember, Delta does get paid by the other airline for transporting you.
