Wife applied for Chase Sapphire yesterday and at the same time Barclays Wyndham and Citi AA Plat. Instant approval for Barclays and Citi, but pending for Chase. Wife called reconsideration line expecting simple move of credit (only one open card with limit of 25k), like many times before. Said too many inquiries within two years - have not applied anywhere for six months, and total of 13 inquiries in 24 months (including all applications Chase and other). She typically applies for 1-2 cards every three months, but waited six months this time. She did have the Sapphire before but well over two years ago. Applied and approved six months ago for Chase Southwest. Chase seems to have definitely changed their standards as she has a long record with Chase and has only requested about 2 cards/year from them.
