Another problem with non chip and pin cards is the tip amount being changed. My DW travels each month for work to Puerto Ric. She has had two occassions where the tip amount was changed on her Amex corporate card transaction. When checking with colleagues they too complained about it. Who remebers the exact dinner bill. A chip and pin would put a full stop to this scam done by waiters. In one case my DW checked and she called the estanlishment to complain. She was told you wrote the tip. My DW insisted that she never wrties the tip ampunt, but just the total including the tip. Are there any methods for signature cards that we can use from being nicked by such unscrupulous waiters?
