My bad. It's 2 B&C. The bags are 8 1/2" deep, 9 if I stuff it. So the size is 20 x 14.5 x 8.5 and I know we put them in the overhead on a CRJ several years ago, just not sure which version it was.
Will definitely put any extras under the seats.
I travel on CRJ900 all the time. Overhead bins are very small. I always check my suitcase and soles have to gate check my rolling briefcase. My rolling briefcase is 17 x 11.5 x 15.5 inches and when filled with extra paperwork it's a no go.
