Just checked mine since it got me curious. I applied for the card on 12/29, instant approval. It shows my "Date Eligible" as 12/31/14 (before I even got the card), and the "Offer End Date" as 6/29/15. So I guess it does start right away.
The clock for benefits & spend requirements usually starts ticking from the approval date (which can be either same or different from the application date).
