interesting story. I never had any issue with advance bassinet confirmation on LH, SA or EK. But then again, the seats were still available, and the bassinet was confirmed within 24h latest.

I thought that - in case the bassinet seat is taken by a "normal" passenger - the flight crew is entitled to reseat any passengers not needing a bassinet in those seats. Like they can ask you to move out of a handicapped-suitable seat.
