Weird. I tried a place here in San Diego and another place in Fresno and both didn't ask for citigold. They did say that to get the bonus points (15%) that I would have to open an account. I guess this is YMMV.
yah, the application form said it was for citi gold members only and they couldn't submit it.
I also thought about opening a citigold account and just paying the 30 bucks for a couple months. Now i'm wishing I did that, I didn't know about the 15% TY point bonus. I may open it now... i wonder if they can retro my offer.
