The risks you've outlined are inherent with many different credit cards and many different MSing techniques. In fact there are no guarantees whatsoever in MS land.
Also, you should know some people are lucky enough (myself for instance) to be able to MS with this card in a 5% category at no cost to myself whatsoever. That whole YMMV thing.
