Stick w. DL. If they find the bag, they will get it to you. If they don't, they will pay any compensation due. DL can then slug it out with HA.

Given that LIH is smallish and there shoudn't be too many bags lying around, it is worth a call to HA in LIH and ask them to look for your bag in case the tag got ripped off and it's sitting there.
