Even top tier QF FFers can miss out on the upgrades they request. It is a lottery. It's a really good way to start the trip badly if the desired upgrade fails to clear. It just makes you bitter and resentful at a time when you are most likely stressed anyway. You need a good mindset to expect to travel in the class you purchased.
